기차의 창문으로 스쳐간 풍경, 음식의 맛과 질감, 시원한 바람이나 산책길에서의 기분 등 일상에서 한 번쯤 지나쳤던 순간을 직관적으로 담아내는 작가 김미영의 회화는 자유로운 붓질과 색의 흐름을 따라가게 함으로써 보는 이의 기억과 감각을 생생하게 소환한다. 특히 붓의 음직임이 남긴 흔적과 강렬한 색의 유화물감이 뒤섞이며 만들어낸 마티에르가 화면 전체를 빈틈없이 채우고 있는 그녀의 최근 작업은, 눈으로 표면을 만져가는 듯한 촉각적인(haptic) 시각을 이끌어낸다.
